2019 AGM & Industry Day Re-Cap
May 9-10, 2019 at the Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge.
Thursday:
Thursday kicked off with registration and then dinner followed by a fun casino hosted by Aces’R Wild. Prizes were awarded to the top fun money earners. The evening was capped off with some comradery at Woody’s Pub!

Friday:
Friday was the Annual General Meeting & Industry Day. The membership elected it's 2019/2020 Board of Directors, approved some bylaw changes, including the adoption of a code of conduct for the industry.
Speakers included:
- Mark Milke gave his presentation "dead men may not tell tales - but dead numbers do".
- Andrew Barnes with the Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) presented on changes in the transportation industry and AMTA's advocacy priorities.
- Shane King with McLeod Law presented on changes to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Worker's Compensation Board (WCB).
- Michael McSweeney with the Cement Association of Canada presented on the recently released International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD) report.
Companions spent the afternoon challenging their skills at the fun "Amazing Race" event. And the kids settled into the youth program which ran Thursday, Friday and Saturday... reports are that they had a great time!
Following a full day was the President's Banquet, where guests were introduced to their new President and heard from their outgoing President. The evening included the hilarious comedy of Andrew Grose and was capped off by another night of comradery at Woody's Pub.
Saturday:
Saturday was the farewell breakfast before the golf tournament... it was sad to say goodbye but we look forward to doing it all again next year!.
