Alberta’s Concrete Industry Concerned With The Impact Of Bill 30 On Job Creators
December 5, 2017 – The Government of Alberta has introduced Bill 30, An Act to Protect the Health and Well-being of Working Albertans. The legislation is currently being debated in the Legislative Assembly and is expected to be passed in the coming days, resulting in significant changes to the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
As a member of the ITF (Industry Task Force) Association and the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, Concrete Alberta’s members join the voices of industry from all sectors in Alberta to challenge the government on the proposed changes.

While there is room for improvement in the workers’ compensation system, Concrete Alberta urges the Government of Alberta to put Bill 30 on hold and take the time to engage in meaningful discussions with stakeholders regarding costs to employers and the specific measures needed to make required improvements. This will ensure the system's long term success.
